Axle Chains

With the help of these high-quality and heavy-duty Axle Chains, you can easily and efficiently chain up the forward axles of the tractor during a rear tow job. This means that you no longer have to crawl under the truck through cold snow, thick mud, or messy sand to pass a 10-foot-long chain through and then have to use a binder to hold the suspension up. Instead, for better convenience and easy security, you just need to pass the 8” J Hook between the frame rail and the tires and hook it under the axle or the weight bearing suspension bracket. Then you need to take one of the heavy-duty clevis grab hooks or slip hooks on the top of the chain and use them to grab the frame rail on the vehicle. You then use the other hook to shorten the chain in order to take as much slack out of the chain as you can, making sure that the chain stays nice and tightened. The chain will tighten when you lift the rear of the road tractor. The most drop that occurs would be the length of a single chain link. Our Axle Chains are available in 5/16” by 3’ lengths with a grab hook and an 8” J Hook or with a slip hook, grab hook, and 8” J Hook.
